With the recent formation of the new umbrella group, United Liberation Movement for West Papua, we are very pleased to announce that a new application has been made for West Papua to join the Melanesian Spearhead Group. We hope that this promising step forward will ultimately help to stop the suffering of the people of West Papua at the hands of the Indonesian military that continues to this day.
