Jakarta, Jan 14 (DPA) An earthquake measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale rocked Indonesia’s Papua region early Thursday, but there were no immediate reports of damage or casualties, the meteorology office said.
The quake struck just after midnight, with the epicentre 78 km northwest of the coastal town of Manokwari, according to the Meteorology, Geophysics and Climatology Agency.
The quake had a depth of 26 km and no tsunami warning was issued.
