Hi

With the UK general election fast approaching, the Labour Party have issued a consultation, asking members of the public to submit ideas for their manifesto.

The Labour Party have long standing support for West Papua, and we would like to see them adopt the struggle for self-determination as a core element of their foreign policy. The party leader Jeremy Corbyn is a founding member of International Parliamentarians for West Papua, and Alex Sobel MP is the Chair of APPG on West Papua.

Submissions for the Labour Party manifesto can be made by anyone via this link. Please include the following language showing solidarity with the people of West Papua and their right to self-determination:

"The Labour Party supports the right to self-determination of the West Papuan people and calls for a UN supervised vote on independence in West Papua."

The people of West Papua are making huge international progress and the leader of the liberation movement, Benny Wenda, is based in exile in the UK. For the Papuans to take it to the next level, though, they need the support of a major industrial power. With your help, this can become a reality.

Thanks for your support. Everyday West Papua is getting a step closer to freedom. We will be free.
