Indonesia's foreign minister Hassan Wirajuda says four Dutch journalists held for questioning in Papua will be deported for allegedly violating their visa conditions.

And he has told the news website Detikcom that immigration officials have been handling the matter "appropriately".

The four were detained after covering a pro-independence rally in the province.

They have all been released, but three have had their passports confiscated and refused permission to leave Papua.

The fourth is said to have gone on to the Indonesia capital, Jakarta.
